The Bittersweet
Well, the heavy grey clouds coupled with the sub artic temperatures that has hovered over Vancouver these last few days has resulted in snowfall of obese proportions. This has brought much joy to one Australian-asian male along with many other delighted folk. The snow in its fresh, soft, puffy, powdery and clean state has transformed the university into something quite magical and somewhat surreal, not unlike Narnia come to think of it, minus the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. However the bittersweet of this behemoth snowfall event came on Monday morning at 2am when the whole of UBC campus lost power due to excessive amounts of snow. To much rejoicing of many people alike was the fact that classes couldn't run without electricity, therefore classes were cancelled for Monday...I believe that's a first for quite a long time at UBC. However, the bitterness of this sweetness was the very fact that UBC had lost all power, meaning no electricity, no xboxing in the heated lounge, no lights, no heat, no hot showers and worst of all...NO hot FOOD!!!! I almost cried. Well, in a situation like this there was really nothing much left to do than to go toboganing on some borrowed food trays from the Cafeteria, partake in some general mischief making and initiate snowball fights with randoms.
I've read a bit more on The Case for a Creator, it continues to be a solid read, will be posting on that in the near future.
