The Home Stretch

I have 10 days left of uni...it's official.

Some would call this the home stretch, and I would tend to agree. It's not that I would like this to be the home stretch quite yet by any means but as I look around, the evidence does not lie...my last cadbury chocolate block has dwindled down to a quarter, vegemite not faring any better...in fact far worse, season pass for whistler is now valid as ski season officially opened last weekend, a classic rush of assignments and last minute exams are all conveniently due in within the next 3 days of Wk 12, and the bitterly cold November Vancouverian wind and rain continues its relentless attack.

But the future holds bright and attractive prospects. I am anticipating that Friday arvo will bestow much relief for the soul, mind and body, perhaps not unlike the relief experienced after answering a long awaited urgent call of nature. The majority of assignments and term exams will be over by then, only to leave room for an All-You-Can-Eat Sushi buffet for $12...I am slightly anxious though, I have a feeling I may O.D. on the sushi in my excitement, but I figure my friends will be there to bale me out if I encounter trouble...and I'll try to remember to pace myself. Friday night will involve excessive amounts of hanging out before an early night in preparation for my first SNOW experience in Canada. The plan is to hit up one of the local mountains with my trustworthy local pal Ben (the guy who drove over the pile of leaves with his car) on Saturday...so ah, yah, we'll see how she goes!

After a day at the slopes, saturday night will be time to put on the spiffy shoes, pants, shirt, tie and jacket to unleash my ballroom dancing prowess on the dance floor which I've learnt over the last 3 weeks. Watch out...the thunder from down under is ready to rip it up on the dance floor! Well actually, there's a current bet that I will step on my partner's feet more times due to shear incompetency or unco-ness than another guy during the formal dancing part. We'll see how we go and I'll let you know next time, ah should be a bonza nonetheless.

Well, that leaves Sunday unaccounted for, which is going to remain that way until the vibe tells me otherwise.

So while I'm not stoked that my time here is coming to a close, its hard not to look forward with eager anticipation of the future weeks to come. In particular, this holds true as I look back at the past however many weeks and manage a smile...and perhaps even a chuckle of all the good things, times and people God has put onto my path. So I guess...errrr ROCK ON!

In fact, I'm kinda excited now.
