This weekend has had all the makings of something legendary, and it did not disappoint.

Rememberance Day fell on the Saturday meaning that it would be a long weekend - potentially a crucial and fundamental building block for having a most triumphantly legendary weekend. Late sleep-ins were not held back as both Saturday and Sunday morning was taken at a leisurely pace, mainly consisting of a post noon wake up, a hot shower, a light lunch, and a coffee type product following the lunch. It was good. Saturday arvo saw Round 2 of ballroom dancing take place, however, this time struggle street was less travelled upon, which was a pleasant surprise. I would tell you what we learnt, but I can't remember the names of the dances, but one of them was the variation of the foxtrot and the other one sounded like a merang or something. All I know is that the left foot is always the lead foot for the foxtrot one. It kept things simple.

Sunday was the killer day though. There's a first time for everything so the saying goes and this was surely my first time to watch a canadian football game in full...live, semi-finals, with 50, 000 other crazed supporters, home game, Go BC Lions, Go! So just to give you the low down, this game was the Western Finals, i.e the finals for all the western teams in Canada and whoever won this game moved onto the finals (Grey's Cup), which is the equivalent to the Super Bowl basically. So the atmosphere was at fever pitch. It was BC Lions vs. Saskatchewan Riders and being a home game, it would be fair to say that 90% of the supporters there were clothed in nothing but orange and black. The atmosphere was heart pounding. The noise, thunderous. For a game like this, it would've been criminal not to go all out and show your support for your team. I went with a bunch of true blue canadians from Rez and we did nothing less than get ourselves all painted up. It was either go hard or go home. Apparantly these guys would do this every year and there were the unwritten rules and traditions that had to be followed, and to break them or to do otherwise would've resulted in instant execution.

We had an old school BC Lions supporter with us on the bus

42, 57, 1284, Huht! Huht! Huht!

We showed our support

Whitespot - The Canadian thing to do after a football game, the burgers are good there!

It's hard to convey the excitment of the whole day, but basically when you have 8 other physced out hard core canadian football fans by your side, 50 000 supporters making ground shaking noise, having the home team thrash the opponent 45-18, catching a BC Lions cap that the quarterback chucked up into the crowd and then having a massive feast at a classic canadian food joint, well, it kinda makes that day pretty legendary. It's the kinda excitment a kid would have going to Disneyland for the first time or something.

And to wrap up the long weekend, I went down to Seattle with Kerensa and Chris yesterday. Unwittingly we did the American thing and ate Macca's for all our meals...my stomach and I were not on the best terms after those meals. My body is still asking what its done to deserve such treatment...and I have no reply to that. Seattle was good times, but it was unrigtheously cold, which slightly detracted from the experience. We did the tourist thing and mozzied around all the hot spots like the Music museum, the Pike Markets, downtown and the Space Needle. All in all a good day, and I can now happily tick Seattle off fro my To Do list.

It's been a legendary weekend...and now I'm gonna get myself a legendary lunch.

Peace out...as the gangsta types say over here.
