1) Trip to Vancouver Island with a bunch of Aussies for the weekend. This trip was chiseled into the hall of fame as being the inaugral travelling/trip I've done since i've arrived in Canada. Finally doing something that was worthy of the blog title.
This was breakie at some joint in Victoria on Van Island. They had big breakfasts...and it was good.
We rode out the Galloping Moose trail
2) So to continue my travels, I headed out east last weekend with a bunch of international students out to Okanagon Valley way. There's not a lot out there, just a big mama of a lake (89km long, 13km wide) and a few moutains on either side.
Going Global

3) The Grouse Grind. The has a notorious reputation of being a bad ass climb. I would tend to agree. Here are the stats: Grouse mountain stands just over 1000m in height, from the carpark to the gondola station up top. A trail winds its way around 3kms of the southern face of Grouse. In more than one section of the climb, you are climbing on slopes greater than 45 degrees. Average time is said to be 60-90mins, freaks do it in 30mins...I did it in 77mins. By the end of it, I looked like I came out of a sweat bath...didn't smell much better...and looked even worse, but a quiet sense of satisfaction made it all ok.
